Join us at BEC Canada for intimate classes that immerse the students in the English language. The BEC Canada learning environment will increase your knowledge of English, maintain your confidence, and keep you relaxed. We will work hard to increase your conversation and pronounciation skills, while strengthening your writing, reading and listening skills. Our teachers will use many resources to assist in your learning: computers, videos, magazines, television, radio. The weekly group activities and field trips will give you more opportunities to learn and practise the language.
All students are encouraged to share their backgrounds, their cultures, and their interests with the other students in order to heighten your BEC Canada experience.

ESL (English as a Second Language)
BEC Canada teaches 5 levels of ESL courses:
- Beginner level: student’s visa
- High Beginner: student’s visa, completion of beginner course or good knowledge of English
- Intermediate level: student’s visa, completion of high beginner course or good knowledge of English
- High Intermediate: student’s visa, completion of intermediate level or very good knowledge of English
- Advanced level: student’s visa, completion of high intermediate level or very good knowledge of English.
Details:
- Each of these courses focus on all the components of the english language-listening, speaking, reading, writing, vocabulary enhancement, pronunciation all leading toward fluent speaking in the shortest possible time.
- BEC Canada accepts students at ages 15 and older.
- Timing: ESL Classes are offered year round and new applicants may start any Monday throughout the year.
- ESL classes are from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm. from Monday to Thursday, and from 10:00am – 12:00pm on Friday. Total class hours for the week is 18 hours.
- BEC Canada offer great activities for students to participate in.
- Students are welcome to come and study as long as they want!
When you arrive BEC Canada staff will give you an assessment test – if you are not happy about taking this test we will not force you. Depending on the ability to communicate you will be placed in the proper level.

TOEFL ibt courses:
BEC Canada is an authorized ETS TOEFL ibt testing centre in London, Canada. BEC is equipped with a state of the art computer lab that will assist you to practice TOEFL ibt online as many times as you want.
Requirements:
- Valid Student’s visa/Study Permit Required
- Ages: BEC Canada accepts students at ages 18 and older
- Good knowledge of English (Advanced ESL)
- Timing: TOEFL iBT Classes are offered year round and new applicants may start any Monday throughout the year
- The course is offered year round, and requires 20 hours per week.
- The course runs Monday to Thursday from 10.00 to 3.00 p.m. and on Fridays from 9.00 to 1.00 p.m.
- You will be given diagnostic test on the first day.
- You will be given a mock test every week to see your progress.
The TOEFL iBT Course is very useful for the following individuals:
- Foreign Physicians, Dentists, Teachers looking to work in Canada (In order for foreign trained Physicians, Dentists, Teachers to work in Canada, TOEFL iBT is a mandatory test).
- Graduate students who want to continue their studies in Canada
- Students looking to apply to Universities that prefer TOEFL iBT for undergraduate admission
TOEFL iBT Score Requirements:
- For foreign trained Physicians, Dentists and Teachers, a minimum of 26 to 28 in speaking and listening components is required, and not less than 24 in reading and writing. Total score should be not less than 98 to 100 out of 120.
- Graduate Schools require scores between 88 to 90, and a minimum of 20 in each component.
- Undergraduate Schools usually require a minimum score of 88, and no less than 20 in each component, except for the speaking component where the minimum score is 22.
The TOEFL iBT test is an Internet based test and takes 4.15 to 4.30 hours. The test consists of reading, listening, 10-minute break, speaking and writing. Students must bring their valid passport as identification and their registration form.

IELTS Course - General (for Students wishing to go to immigrate to Canada)
The IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is a recognized standard testing by Canadian immigration. BEC Canada’s IELTS course is offered year round from Monday to Thursday from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm and on Fridays from 10.00 to 12.00 noon (18 hours a week). New applicants may start any Monday throughout the year.
Requirements:
- Valid Student’s visa/Study Permit Required
- Ages: 18 and older
- Good knowledge of English (Advanced ESL) Required
- Course consists of listening, spelling, reading, 2 writing tasks and speaking.
- Students are tested every Friday to check progress.
- In order to get into Undergraduate School, Students need to achieve a minimum score of 7.0 with no components being below 6.0.
- The final paper based test lasts for 2.5 hours.
- This test also determines if you are proficient enough in English to immigrate to Canada.

MELAB (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery)
The MELAB course is offered throughout the year from Monday to Thursday 10.00 am to 3.00 p.m. And on Friday’s from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon. (18 hours a week).
Details:
- The course consists of Grammar, Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking
- Students are tested every Friday to check progress.
- Many universities will accept MELAB test score of 85 as an alternative to TOEFL iBT.
- The MELAB test is paper based.
